Tavistock Tutors offer piano teachers at all levels, in the London area. Learning a musical instrument can be immensely enjoyable as well as providing a great sense of accomplishment. Many find time spent at their instrument of choice a relaxing change from the daily grind as well as a chance to express themselves. For others music is a vocation that they want to make an occupation. The piano is a versatile instrument, having been the instrument of choice for Beethoven, Mozart, and Elton John. Whichever style of piano playing you wish to learn, to whatever level, Tavistock Tutors can help you reach your goals quickly, easily and in an interesting manner.
All of our teachers are at the very least grade 8 in their given instrument. However, to teach music requires much more than that. Elton John or Vanessa Carlton may be talented pianists, but they probably would not be the best teachers. We are firm believers that teaching is in itself a skill. This is why Tavistock Tutors treat their music teachers the same way they do all of their academic subject tutors. We interview every teacher to ensure that they have the passion for their subject and for teaching, to go alongside their skills and qualifications. Our team will then take this information, and combine it with what you tell them, to provide the perfect teacher match. This will result in tailored lessons, and rapid targeted progress towards your goals as the client. For example, if you are seeking just a working knowledge of the instrument, your lessons will be radically different to someone wishing to make the piano their career.
All of our teachers can empathise with your struggles to learn a musical instrument. However talented they are now, they have struggled at some point, just as you are doing. Their experience means that they have learned hints and tips, which can make all the difference, and take you to the next level. A book will show you the textbook way to learn the piano but will not take into account the individual in the way a Tavistock Tutor will.
