Computer science AS and A-Level tuition

Tavistock Tutors provides computer science AS and A-level tuition in all areas of London for students of all abilities. ICT and computer science are more important than ever in this new technological world, and the tuition which we provide will be an incredible asset to your child in preparation for examinations and the workplace. Knowledge of computer science is useful for a wide range of careers, from medicine and law to business and politics. Assistance is available in all aspects of your computer science AS and A-level course, including programming, maths, problem solving, design systems and computational thinking.

Our computer science tutors are available all year round at whatever time suits you. We can provide crash-courses for students approaching exams, and long-term courses for students who wish to dedicate some extra time to computer science in the holidays or during term-time.

Tuition for the new AS and A-Level syllabus

Our team of computer science tutors are well versed in the new AS and A-level syllabus, introduced in September 2015 by exam boards such as AQA, OCR, WJEC and Cambridge International Examinations. We can also teach the old AS and A-level syllabus to students who began their course in computing, computer science, or ICT before September 2015.

The new computer science AS and A-level syllabus focusses on helping students to develop a knowledge and understanding of programming, data representation and management, algorithms, processors, input and output, among other topics. Students are encouraged to develop their problem-solving and skills in mathematics and to think about the ethics and consequences of digital technology. Our tutors can help with all aspects of this brand-new syllabus, and will evaluate each student’s abilities in order to focus on the key areas which they find most challenging.

The new AS and A-level syllabus means that A-level exams are more important than ever, as students no longer have the security of being able to resit certain modules. All of our tutors understand the enormous pressure this can put on your child, and design their lessons to provide support and encouragement for students approaching their A-level exams.

Qualified and experienced computer science tutors

Our computer science tutors are all qualified experts in their subject. They have graduated with first class degrees from top universities, including Oxford, Imperial college London and UCL. Our tutors are used to teaching students from all backgrounds and abilities, and are aware of the specifications of all the available examining bodies.

All of our computer science team are enthusiastic and experienced tutors with an extensive knowledge of their subject. They are hard-working, passionate tutors, who are personable as well as knowledgeable. Our lessons are designed to be both enjoyable and productive. Your child will be encouraged in all aspects of the course, and each lesson will be tailored specifically to suit his/her individual needs and learning style.
