Since gaining my Qualified Teacher Status (QST) from Cambridge University, I have had experience of teaching in Year Four (8-9yrs), Year Three (7-8yrs) and Reception (4-5yrs). My teaching experiences have given me a wide range of knowledge and understanding of the various teaching and learning styles required for the different age ranges in primary teaching.
During my PGCE training, I spent four weeks in a Year Five class, eight weeks in both a Year One and Year Three class respectively and one week in a moderate learning difficulty school.
My confidence in planning and delivering well-structured and effective lessons, which meet the needs of each individual child, has increased with each year. I am confident in differentiating my lessons across a wide spectrum of abilities and learning styles to make the learning objective accessible to all. By using many visual aids and prompts, as well as allowing active participation in learning, I strive to ensure that every child is making maximum progress during lessons. This requires high levels of both organisation and time management; two attributes I have strengthened during my years teaching.

My Approach to Private Tuition
I aim to inspire, guide and instil a love of learning and sense of confidence in all my students.
Over the years, I have learnt that high expectations of all children are needed in order to help them develop both socially and academically. Furthermore, I weight great importance on child-centered learning and the necessity to remember that learning and teaching starts from where the child is. I have seen how, through the effective use of formative assessment, children can progress rapidly. This comes from setting clear learning objectives, accessible targets and building on prior learning and attainment.
I am an energetic teacher who takes pride in planning and delivering outstanding lessons that are creative and engaging. As well as this, I believe I have grown to be a talented teacher with an exceptional ability to establish cooperative, professional relationships with all involved. Some of the key elements that I bring to teaching are my wide range of personal qualities. Always carrying with me a positive attitude to life and sense of humour, two things I believe to be a necessity in this career. My energy and enthusiasm is infectious and motivates children of all ages to strive to be the best they can be. In addition, my creativity and versatility is used to inspire and challenge the children’s thinking, as well as using my patience and use of praise to support and scaffold all children.
