My Passion & How I Inspire

A traditional world-view is that youthfulness is synonymous with inexperience. Over the course of the next few paragraphs I intend to break down this common convention and show you that, though I may be young, I have a wealth of both direct and indirect experience which can be highly beneficial to you or your child.

My approach is simple. I intend to use the first hour session (which is free of charge) to assess the child’s ability and to find out what level they are at. Then it’s time to get to the good stuff, the actual teaching! Through engaged, problem-based learning, with an emphasis on exam technique, I will no doubt be able to see your child through all their A-Level Math woes, be they big or small. I only ever want what is best for my pupils, this is exactly why I set homework, usually every lesson, to be handed in the next time we meet. Don’t worry though, I’m extremely fair with the amount of work I set, I never expect too much or push my students too hard, as this can be detrimental to their learning in the long-term.

Being a mathematician myself, I am a natural problem-solver and I have the ability to adapt and apply techniques so as to be most beneficial to your child. Having overcome some of the very same problems your child will be facing, I know the methods and tools, and have the utmost confidence that I’m capable, to help students climb over these obstacles with relative ease.

I also have the added advantage of being taught by, someone who I consider to be, a world-class tutor. This has given me invaluable experience in honing my own teaching techniques and means I have an inexhaustible supply of good resources that can only seek to further help your child.

My Experience

I have been tutoring A-Level Maths since I started my own A-Levels in 2010; having done most of my tutoring quite informally with students in my own class during breaks and free periods. However, during my gap year, I was able to acquire a number of students to keep my teaching techniques sharp. This, coupled with my passion for teaching, as well as being in the top 36 students in the whole country based on Mathematics results in 2012, has allowed me to gain an extensive knowledge of the OCR and Edexcel syllabi.
