My Passion & How I Inspire

I am aware Statistics is not a friendly topic, so I always try to make is accessible using interesting examples or case studies relevant to student’s specialism.

My Experience

My teaching and tutoring skills constantly improved thanks to my experience as Social Statistics and Methodology lecturer. For 10 years I was teaching courses such as “Research Methodology” (BA, MSc students), “Introduction to Social Statistics (BA)”, and “Advanced Data Analysis Techniques (MSc)”. I am used to supervising the results section for dissertation and research projects for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Since 2014, when I started to work as tutor, I collaborated with more the 300 postgraduate and undergraduate students from UK universities such as LSE, Kings’ College, UCL, Birkbeck College, Brunel University, Exeter, Bristol or Leeds University. I tutored them to prepare for challenging statistics exams such as LSE’s MY451 and MY452; I guided them in preparing their results sections for PhD, MSc or BSc thesis or taught them how to analyse their datasets. I collaborate predominantly with Psychology, Business Studies, Political Science, Geography, Biology, and Medical Sciences students.

My Reviews

Exceptional Tutor

Sebastian has been one of the best, if not the best tutor I have had so far. He has helped with SPSS, showed me how to run statistical tests, and explained what each one means. He made sure I had a clear understanding of what I was doing throughout the session, and has even followed up on my progress. I am extremely grateful for everything he has done, and through his help, I am now able to write the most important part of my dissertation with confidence. I would recommend him for future students!

Sebastian was an excellent tutor, that went out of his way to help me with my dissertation. He supported and assisted me with entering and interpreting the data for my Psychology (individual difference) dissertation report. Sebastian was efficient and was determined to ensure I understood information that was slightly more difficult. My dissertation was a big project and Sebastian gave me advice and guidance throughout, even up to the last two days of my deadline.

Outcome:

My dissertation was a success and I received a 2:1 grade.

First choice for Excellent SPSS tuition

Sebastian is an excellent SPSS tutor. He has given me the confidence to move forward in my work and the belief that I can achieve my high-level qualification. I would highly recommend Sebastian as a tutor as not only is he extremely knowledgeable but very personable also. My tuition journey has only just begun with Sebastian but from only one session I took giant steps forward and I am looking forward to taking more giant leaps in SPSS and my work! The fear of statistics and SPSS is rapidly dissolving through meeting Sebastian as he makes you believe that anything is achievable!

Fun fact

I co-authored an Electoral Atlas which is 8 Kg heavy.

That is very unusual for a book published in recent years. Personally, I saw similar books (so heavy, and having large dimensions) at V & A Museum in the medieval history section.
