My Passion & How I Inspire

As a private tutee, you’ll probably have a discrete goal to achieve in a short timeframe. For example, maximising your performance in an upcoming exam, or producing the best possible essay for a specific topic. My aim is to help you achieve this goal. I'll begin by assessing your specific situation and drawing up a plan of action personalised to you. I'll then provide you with expert breakdowns of the material. And I'll use a discursive teaching method to ensure that you absorb all the most important details and develop a deep and nuanced understanding of the topic. I'll also explain exactly how you should write an essay or exam so as to maximise your results, including how to avoid the most common pitfalls that I see from a marker's point of view.

My Experience

I have three years experience as a postgraduate tutor at the University of Edinburgh. In this role I've tutored Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Ethics, Logic, Political Philosophy, Political Science, and International Relations. This kind of tutoring involves group classes, one to one tutoring, and exam marking. I've also done some traditional 1 on 1 tutoring with private clients.
