My Passion & How I Inspire

In our first lesson, I will ask the tuteeĀ why they sought extra help in their chosen subject. I will seek to find out where their weak points lie, and whereĀ they would most like to improve. I will then try to understand the desired time scale for making these improvements.

I will thenĀ suggest that we create a timetable together to cover any challenging topic areas and related past papers in accordance with the syllabus on a session-by-session basis so that we can measure her/his success as we go along. This is both rewarding and efficient for the tutee.

Once this groundwork has been carried out, prior to each lesson I will make sure that I have fully researched the topic area(s), trying to create fun and engaging ways to convey the core principles of this topic. If I am tutoring in French or Spanish, I would also ensure that we get into the habit of speaking freely in the language for at least 10 minutes each lesson, as this is the key to building up fluency and confidence for oral examinations.

If you choose to work with me, expect to be challenged and encouraged to set ambitious goals. However, expect also to have fun, I like to use quizzes, games and technology to help you to get excited about what youā€™re learning ā€“ this is the best motivation for putting in those extra hours and achieving the top grades!
