My Passion & How I Inspire

There is always fun in what I do. Sometimes that comes from the material I have found, my approach to some grammar or my students who keep making really good jokes! It is possible to be serious, achieve your goals and enjoy studying as well. I have always been interested in finding the material that motivates a student or the right approach to help them understand and remember better. It is also important to help a student develop their own method of learning or studying so that they can set their own goals and have an input in what we do. The more a student tells me about themselves, tries, makes mistakes, corrects mistakes, shows me what interests them the better I can help them to learn English!

My Experience

I have a lot of experience teaching English to many different students of different ages and different levels of English. I have taught general English, conversation, ESOL, IELTS preparation classes, and preparation classes for the FCE, CAE, SELT GESE exams and for the citizenship and right to remain exams. I have always really enjoyed working out what motivates my students and finding ways to approach the language they find difficult. I have taught adults and children alike and have been lucky enough to teach students from around the world with different backgrounds. It has been wonderful to help students set a goal, work hard in our lessons and achieve that goal. I have learnt so many things myself from my students and heard many fascinating stories. I hope there will be many more to come!
