I have been teaching privately as a Mathematics tutor for several years and have worked with students working towards 11+, GCSE and A-level. Exam boards I have prepared students for are WJEC and AQA. I have helped prepare for competitive schools including St. Michael’s Catholic Grammar School and The Henrietta Barnett School.
I have worked as a Mathematics tutor, but along the way I have also had the pleasure of teaching piano and music theory to young children. I have also taught Korean as a second language to a group of adult learners, who wanted to improve their knowledge of the language.
Subjects I teach
Mathematics (up to A-level)
Further Mathematics (A-level)
Piano (up to ABRSM Grade 6)
Korean (beginner to intermediate)
A2: A*A*A in Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics
AS: AAAAB in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Music, German
GCSE: 8A*s and 3As
In addition, to this I have also completed the associated board’s grade exams in Piano up to Grade 8 and in violin, Grade 7.
I am a native Korean.
My Passion And How I Inspire
My aim with any student is to quickly establish their style of learning and tailor the lessons to suit them most. I would also understand what they want to achieve and set smaller goals to reach this. I adjust the speed of my lessons according to the needs of the student and make sure they have fully understood before moving on. In doing this I hope to help students build confidence in their subject. I want my students to know that I am there, not to guilt them for not knowing something, but to assist them in the areas they need help the most.
