My Approach to Private Tuition
Interest is key to academic success. Teachers are often in such a rush to finish syllabuses that they miss the ‘why’: I like to fill in the gaps, aiding motivation both in my lessons and in school.
Mathematics and Physics rely on a deep understanding of a fairly small number of concepts, each building on the previous. Missing one of the earlier building blocks makes learning later ones very difficult, and this is often where students struggle. I trace these difficulties to their foundations and secure them.
I helped organise a charity event based on getting as far away from Cambridge in 36 hours as possible. One team phoned me up from Bangkok to ask if they were going to win, and I had to tell them to keep going!
