I am passionate about education. After eleven years of honing my technique I have found that a student-specific approach is essential. Therefore my lessons are always student-focused. I match the lesson content and pace to the student’s knowledge gaps and ability. This allows the child to achieve more in the long term as they learn at a pace at which they are comfortable which in turn enables them to enjoy the learning process.
To achieve this approach it is essential to build a rapport with my students. A strong understanding enables me to teach lessons that are both knowledge-rich and enjoyable. A testament to the effectiveness of this approach is my long-standing relationships with several families even after the children no longer require tuition.
I have been teaching since 2004. In the academic year 2004-2005 I taught a range of subjects as maternity cover at Arnold House, a boys’ prep school in North London: English, Maths, Science, History, Latin, and Classical Greek. My students were all boys aged 5-13. Since 2005 I have privately tutored children in face-to-face and Skype lessons. I have successfully prepared children for UK school entrance exams, UK national exams (GCSE and A-Level) and UK university entrance exams and interviews.
