Zoe

My Passion & How I Inspire

I tutor on a student-by-student approach. I believe that teaching in schools often does not offer everyone the opportunities that they deserve; everyone has a different way of learning and I think that the best way to teach someone is to work with them and find out what that method is. I also believe that talking and debate is often the best way to widen a student's knowledge and make them think more about the subject, improving their ability to formulate coherent arguments about a topic. In my tutorials I go through written work with pupils, discuss both major and more detailed themes of their subject with them, and also set different activities to both enthuse and instigate thinking about issues in a variety of ways.

My Experience

In 2012 I taught English as a foreign language to classes in Hong Kong for six weeks. I formulated my own lesson plans designed to entertain and inspire, and taught groups of up to twenty students, ranging from 8 to 20 years old.

I have been privately tutoring in several subjects such as English, Maths and Theatre Studies. I have extensive experience tutoring for A-Level and GCSE, as well as degree-level essay skills.

I have successfully placed students through their 7+ to 11+ exams at schools including Sevenoaks, John Lyon, Alleyn’s and Dulwich College.
