I believe in the importance of understanding the students’ needs and goals in order to tailor lessons to their needs and unique skills.
Through experience I have come to realise that there is no one way to learn and in my teaching practice I try to incorporate different materials such as subject-specific texts and past exam papers, and exercises in academic writing, depending on the chosen topic of study and the students’ individual personalities.
As a tutor, I would encourage you to engage with your chosen field of study and help you overcome any potential difficulties with the curriculum, academic writing or upcoming exams.
I have taught modules in English, film and media studies, art history and critical studies at university level (undergraduate and postgraduate).
Besides my teaching experience, I have led tutorials on academic writing and essay composition.
I have also marked exams on GCE/GCSE level in English language and English literature.
