My Passion & How I Inspire

I like to establish a friendly and informal style of teaching, focusing on participation from students. I often ask questions and encourage the students to guess answers without being scared of getting it wrong because I believe the thought process behind trying to figure out an answer is important to remembering the correct answer when it is reached by the student or provided and explained by myself. I always bring real-life examples to topics to make facts and syllabus points more memorable, as well as frequently employing my trusty white-board for help with visualizations pf key concepts.

• 1-on-1 tutoring IGCSE maths

• Organising IB Geography HL classes in 2014

• 1-on-1 tutoring IB Geography HL, including help with internal assessments since 2014

• 1-on-1 tutoring IB Economics HL, including help with internal assessments in person and through skype since 2014

• 1-on-1 tutoring IB English Lit&Lang SL cramming sessions in person in 2016

• Organised and conducted an Oxford University applications seminar in 2017 covering entrance exams and interview techniques

• Reviewing and helping students to improve undergraduate theses in Geography since 2014

• Reviewing personal statements for undergraduate degrees since 2014 and for postgraduate degrees since 2018
