My main goal is to teach the tutee how to learn on his own and give him the necessary tools to face and understand material that he/she has never come across before. In most cases teachers do not put the same exercises that have previously been covered in class, but rather put different and challenging questions in order to test the students and see whether or not they have truly understood the subject. This may cause the students to get stuck and struggle to solve the question. I will, to the best of my ability make sure this does not happen and that the subject has been covered well and clearly understood, by making sure I challenge the tutee myself beforehand thoroughly. Moreover I will try to find interesting material to keep the tutee engaged in the lesson and is is enjoying it. It is fundamental to keep the lessons interesting and not over complicated as to not frighten the student and lower his confidence in the area of topic.
Finally, I do not believe in memorising, rather I will encourage the student to understand the logic behind each topic, which will be really helpful in the longterm.
