I ensure that students are fully engaged in the topic of study, making sessions as interactive using leading questions to facilitate students in understanding and acknowledging key concepts. Indeed, this ensures that current knowledge is consolidated, whilst simultaneously highlighting gaps in knowledge, which can be consequently addressed. A variety of tutoring techniques are employed: including the use of textbooks, diagrams and interactive video learning resources.
Moreover I also ensure that learning is structured and organised in a logical manner, tailored to each student’s goals. For example, sessions are focused upon the specific examination board syllabus, with understanding consolidated through a selection of exam-style past paper questions.
I also aim to work in partnership with students - for example providing advice on different revision techniques – in order to ensure that students gain confidence and achieve their learning potential.
