My approach to tutoring is to make what is being studied relevant to today by finding links and similarities to the student's own life that make it more engaging and fun; this is especially useful for classic texts which can seem very inaccessible at first. As drama is normally a very vocational subject it's essential the written side is as good as the performance and I work hard to ensure that the student understands what is being asked of them and preparing them in terms of the marking requirements. I encourage my students to be bold and make mistakes so that they can learn quicker and gain more confidence to progress. Encouragement of effort is key to sustaining an interest in learning.
