My Passion & How I Inspire

I am a compassionate, organised and dependable tutor with seven years of positive experiences. In most cases, I provide my own resources depending on what a particular student may require. One on one tutoring allows my students to move at their own pace whilst addressing any gaps in their knowledge, whilst keeping parents regularly updated on their child’s progress.

I keep a lesson log for each of my students, in which I record areas in which a student is showing progress and areas which need to be developed further; I also keep track of any homework set, as well as the student’s general attitude towards the work. This is then made available for students and parents alike to view after the lesson so that they are clear on the progress the student is making; however, I am always available to discuss any issues that parents may want to go over in more detail, be it face-to-face or via a phone call.

My Experience

I worked as an assistant for Kumon for approximately a year and a half, helping children with their Maths and English work as well as carrying out administrative duties such as marking and recording of work.

I worked as an English tutor for a Year 6 student in preparation for his English and Maths entrance exam at the Grammar School at Leeds, with the aim of getting him a full scholarship for his school fees (as he would not have been able to afford it otherwise). Not only did he receive the full scholarship, but he was offered extra funds to pay for his uniform and other necessary school costs. However, I am more proud of the fact that he has continued his keen interest in English Literature and books in general, something he was stubbornly reluctantly to engage in when I first met him.

I have helped to prepare several students for their GCSEs and A-Levels over the last seven years. In many cases, students were averaging around a C grade which – with my support – was boosted up to As and A*s by exam time. Having worked with students of a variety of ages and backgrounds, I am confident that I can help any student achieve their goals if they share my determination for their self-improvement.

My Video Introduction

Fun fact

Like many of my generation, I was obsessed with Harry Potter in my formative years and I was such a fanatic that I finished the final two books in the Harry Potter series the day they were released.
