My Passion & How I Inspire

I was lucky enough to really enjoy learning and my school experience. I want to pass this enthusiasm and enjoyment towards learning onto my tutees. I make sure to discuss tuition in detail with my students to assess their current level and expectations and determine which styles of learning best suit them as each student learns and absorbs information in an individual way. I do my best to ensure my students are confident and relaxed to ensure success. I understand that it is extremely important to build a good relationship with my pupils and their parents to ensure goals are aligned and am focused on ensuring that my lessons are engaging and stimulating as I would never want a tutoring session to be dreaded.

My Experience

I have experience tutoring a range of subjects to students from all age groups. I started my tutoring career back at University when I worked closely with a family helping their children in primary school with homework for all subjects. I then went on to teach English as a foreign language in Romania for six weeks after graduating, working with students aged from four years to 18 years. Since then, I have gone on to tutor Geography and English, with some Psychology and Economics.

Some specific examples include:

A2 Geography: One-to-one sessions with a year 13 student with particular focus on coursework material

GCSE Geography: One-to-one sessions with a student about to enter year 10 but was feeling unconfident. Worked on confidence and motivation with particular focus on case studies and exam technique.

University dissertation writing: Worked with a Sports Science student to plan and write his final year dissertation. He went on to achieve good results.

Oxbridge Applications: Worked with students considering Oxbridge, helping with personal statement writing and interview practice.
