My focus is on helping my students with not only their immediate learning needs but also to build a foundation for future learning. I strongly believe that I can meet the learning needs of my students if I am aware of their learning style and the gaps in their comprehension of the subject. Hence, I often start by understanding student’s approach towards solving problems. I also find sharing learning objectives with my students helps them to focus more clearly on tasks. Sharing learning objectives also facilitates effective self-assessments as there are clear criteria to assess against.
I have experience tutoring Maths to GCSE and A-level students as well as to first year undergraduates.
I ran several maths tutorials at university helping students in many different academic backgrounds, especially within the Engineering department. As a Lecturer Assistant, I thought Fluid Mechanics and conducted exam invigilation duties within the Computer, Science and Engineering department. I also have experience invigilating exams for students with learning difficulties.
I have process design experience in the water/wastewater sector and I am currently working as a Senior Process Engineer. Having both practical and theoretical experience in Chemical Engineering gives me a broad knowledge of the area.
Subjects I teach – Mass/Material and Energy Balance, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Engineering Mathematics, Separation Processes, Heat and Mass transfer, Electrochemistry, Particle Engineering.
PhD in Process Engineering Design, research was focused on using chemical engineering principles to design a novel Water and Energy Recycling device through adsorption and electrochemical regeneration technique. My PhD was sponsored by United Utilities and the University of Salford.
MEng(Hons) in Chemical Engineering at Loughborough University
A-Level Maths, Physics, Chemistry studied at Hammersmith and West London College
11 GCSEs at grade A* to C
I often like to express my creativity through cooking and art.
