I believe that tuition is always more beneficial and effective if it is also enjoyable, for both student and tutor. I use simple and engaging methods to encourage my students to take a more holistic approach to their learning and see how it can be an incredibly pleasurable experience. I tailor my lessons to my students and with my students, to create achievable steps towards both exams and wider learning.
I specialise in tutoring English, History, Classics and 11+ preparation, either as an on-going process to complement school work during the course of the school year, or for more intensive exam preparation.
I am a full-time tutor, currently tutoring several students in English GCSE as well as teaching Ancient History and Classical Civilisation at Lansdowne College in Bayswater. In all my tutoring I concentrate not only on exam preparation but also focus on encouraging a broader understanding and passion for the subject in hand. Much of my work focuses on structure and clarity – exercises designed to improve invaluable transferable skills. I also have significant experience of working with younger children through the Children’s Charity Lighthouse.
