I am a passionate tutor and tailor sessions to the individual student's requirements. I ensure that lessons are engaging, well-planned and designed to provide stretch and challenge, whilst reviewing and strengthening areas of weakness. I am a firm believer in academic rigour and endeavour to ensure this whilst treating my students with respect and compassion. I strive to go beyond the curriculum, to encourage a sheer joy of learning. Tutoring should be an enjoyable experience and I always aim to build a really positive working relationship with my clients.
I completed my PGCE at the University of Cambridge in 2013 and taught Classics at The Tiffin Girls' School for 2 years. I have extensive experience of teaching Latin and Classical Civilisation (OCR) to A-Level and Ancient Greek to AS-Level; all my students achieved outstanding results. Outside the classroom, I have tutored Latin to AS-Level, Oxbridge standard and for Common Entrance and Greek to GCSE. I have prepared countless students for successful Oxbridge interviews and university applications and have a sound understanding of the UCAS process; personal statement assistance is a speciality and particular passion of mine.
I attended Colchester Royal Grammar School, achieving A grades in Classical Civilisation, French and Latin at A-Level and at History at AS-Level. I also achieved a merit in AEA Latin and sat GCSE Ancient Greek alongside my A-Levels, achieving an A*.
I studied Classics at Robinson College, Cambridge and graduated in 2010 with a 2.1; I studied for my PGCE at Hughes Hall, Cambridge and achieved this in 2013.
I took part in Jail Break whilst at university to raise money for charity, resulting in being thrown off a train by a very angry guard half way to Berlin. We raised £500!
