I believe in tailoring lessons specifically to the needs of the particular student, in order to meet their particular goals, whether these are preparing for exams, improving study skills or wanting to gain a deeper understand of a topic. I try to use innovative teaching techniques to keep lessons varied, using a variety of resources such as mind maps or flash cards for interactive and memorable lessons. In this way, I aim to create a comfortable working environment and help students develop their full potential.
Two months teaching English in China over summer 2014, working 40 hours a week and giving numerous one to one lessons to students of various abilities which required carefully tailoring lessons to each student. I also tutored several students preparing them for specific English entrance exams at university level.
In addition to teaching experience as an undergraduate I was a Student Ambassador at Somerville College. This role required giving tours and talks to prospective applicants about the admissions process, so I am very up to date with how the system works, and could therefore also advise students on issues relating to Oxbridge applications and interviews.

As part of the archaeological aspect of my degree, I got to work on an archaeological dig at the end of my first year at university in Menorca. I discovered some great objects, including some late Roman coins!
