My Passion & How I Inspire

I take a student-centred approach based on considering what activities the student should engage with to best serve their learning objectives and academic goals. I therefore pay close attention to devising or selecting suitable learning exercises and providing feedback to help my students progress, taking account of their facility and confidence. I also help my students discover connections between different areas of their courses, to deepen their understanding.

My Experience

I have tutored students in GCSE Maths (AQA and Edexcel), GCSE Physics (part of AQA Science, Trilogy), A-Level Physics (AQA, OCR) and Maths (Edexcel, OCR), IB Physics, and degree-level Physics and Maths-for-Science courses. I supervised second and third year undergraduates at Cambridge in small groups (2-3 students). I developed my teaching philosophy and practice, mostly in the context of small group teaching, by completing the year-long Teaching Associates’ Programme provided by the Higher Education Academy.

My Video Introduction

Fun fact

I once cycled a 70 mile round trip to visit the highest point in Hertfordshire. It’s actually not that high.
