My family is, for some reason, full of teachers and history enthusiasts and before I knew it, I gained interest in both. My tutoring experience started after I finished IB and got accepted into LSE. I believe in equal opportunities and wanted to open doors to universities abroad to Polish students. I tutored in History and essay writing, with the goal of entering UK higher education. During summer time I organized activities for children at the local school (4-12-year-old). It focused on English and Arts. Lately, I entered government-funded Widening Participation programme which focuses on encouraging children from less priviledged backgrounds to enter higher education. I tutor geography and we prepare for GCSE.
Subjects I teach
History HL (IB)
Geography HL (IB)
I studied in Stanisław Staszic High School No.1 in Lublin where I entered IB programme. All classes were taught in English and were a great challenge. Not unlike moving alone to a big city just to pursue education. I received Bilingual Diploma with the score of 40 and grades of 7 in both Geography and History (7 being the highest achievable grade). I got into LSE where I study Law (LLB). In my first year I achieved a 2.1 overall.
My Passion And How I Inspire
Private Tutition is a huge challenge for both the student and the tutor. I would like to make it as painless as possible for the student by identifying the right approach to the individual and trying to make lessons fun. The key to obtaining high results is understanding and exercising creativity, not remembering dry facts and creating an unpleasant atmosphere of never being good enough (as history classes tend to be perceived). There is no one formula with so many different personalities out there, but flexibility is the key and I would not be afraid to take a short break and simply talk about the weather if this is what makes the student focus.
I know F.R.I.E.N.D.S. by heart.
