Economics is a fascinating subject but was often taught to me with a very dry dull approach. Nonetheless, I scored 100% in my final A-Level exam, and I did this not because I’m a genius but had a genuine passion and interest in the topic!
Therefore, with my tutoring approach, I hope to bring economics alive with real-world examples and a slow and deliberate approach to the application of graphs and equations. My tutoring will be a mixture of contextual examples of journalism, literature and world events that are based on the theories and impacts of economic activity as well as rigorous exam practice. The combination of careful gradual understanding of the mathematical aspects and a lively and open discussion of the more real life aspects is the best way to gain confidence in the subject as well as a hearty interest. Both are essential for exam success!
I volunteered at an organisation for students in years 7 to 9 helping with mathematics and English. I helped year 9 Students starting their maths GCSE early. I mentored year 7 students struggling with school whilst at Sixth Form, a key part of this was helping them with their studies to gain confidence in class.
