My Passion & How I Inspire

My Approach to Private Tuition: Every student has a unique way of learning. I try to identify the student's unique way of learning and use it to tackle their weaknesses. I also try to teach student's how to do this themselves through helping them understand their weaknesses within the subject. I formulate my lesson plans differently for each student, always keeping in mind what keeps that student engaged and how that student likes to learn. I try to inspire students to cultivate their own interests in their subject area.

My Experience

Private tutor with Tavistock Tutors.

I have volunteered at the Childrenā€™s Presbyterian Club, Harare, where I taught English, Shona, Maths and Art to homeless children aged 6 to 18. Many of these children came from backgrounds where education was not regarded as important, so as well as developing my skills to teach here I also had to learn how to inspire students.

I am currently a tutor with Team Up, UCL, tutoring English Literature to underprivileged students who are struggling academically. Outside of the classroom, I have worked as an Activity Leader at an English teaching Summer School where I was vital in helping the students with their conversational English.
