My Passion & How I Inspire

My passion for the study of History truly developed whilst I completed my History A-Level. I was inspired by the breadth of content available in one subject: Russian Tsars, English Civil War, or the Crusades.

However, it was only when I started my undergraduate in History that I fell in love with both studying and tutoring the subject. Whilst studying, I also began teaching A-Level students at a local school. I began to develop a calm and measured style of teaching where I really try to understand how student's who have problems with their work are thinking. I like to keep students constantly engaged by allowing them the space to express their thoughts and arguments and go with them.

My greatest skill as a tutor is with essay-writing technique. I encourage students to approach their essays with logical argumentation, a clear structure, and critical thought.

My Experience

I spent 2018 and 2019 working as a part-time A-Level History teacher at St Thomas More's School in Wood Green alongside my undergraduate degree. We worked with the AQA board and the feedback from both the students and the head of History was very positive and, as a team, our department helped nearly every student reach the grades they needed for higher/further education after school.

Since leaving school I have tutored Edexcel A-Level History in one-to-one sessions through tutoring agencies as well as offering one-to-one undergraduate tuition (most recently tutoring on the History of Political Thought).
