My Passion & How I Inspire

My passion for languages started when I lived in Russia as a child. At first it was a necessity: I had to learn the language so I could mix with the other kids! When I came back to the UK I realised that I had gained a unique perspective that most people my age hadn't and how valuable that was. So I picked up a few more languages and haven't looked back!

What inspires me is helping someone achieve whatever it was they were striving for; whether that's getting into their preferred school or university or just being able to converse with the locals on holiday or on business. When there's a single event that everything turns on, such as A level or GCSE results day, it's a big rush seeing people's hard work pay off.

I inspire students by first establish what their goal is and what their motivation is. I tap into that motivation when it's appropriate to get that extra 10% that everyone has in them. I measure at intervals and people can see their own progress. Seeing performance change over time, in percentage terms, really helps people focus, acknowledge their progress and kick on.

My Experience

At sixteen years old I founded a society at my school to educate younger students about works of genius in contemporary culture for which I gave weekly seminars.

In my second year of university I taught beginner's Spanish with the Spanish and Latin American Society.

The following year I lived in both Paris, France and Sevilla, Spain, studying at the Sorbonne and the University of Pablo Olavide. Here I took on students for private tuition in English ranging from pre-school age to university.
