My Passion & How I Inspire

I try to be as un-didactic as possible in tutorials. I encourage the student to do as much talking as I do, to develop the confidence to put forward their own point of view and not to be afraid to ask questions when they're stuck. Tutorials are supposed to be an active and participatory learning environment and it's important that they don't lapse into strictness and formality. Students get more out of tutorials when they're asked to engage actively with the material and it's often counter productive to try and emulate the traditional methods of classroom teaching or lecturing. Tutorials are a unique learning environment and I try as far as possible to preserve that uniqueness.
