    My Experience

I am an experienced Primary School Teacher with more than 15 years of service. I have taught from Year 1 to Year 6, led KS1, as well as a number of subjects including Maths and Science. Working as part of the senior leadership, I led initiatives in raising attainment and developing teaching and learning. Our efforts were awarded with an outstanding by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

For many years now, I have supported individual students in maths, reading and writing in preparation for the SATs exams. I have also worked with children who are working at the level of 11+.

Throughout my years of teaching I have gained experience in supporting children with a variety of learning needs, working in both the state and private sector, which has given me the skills and experience to support all children in reaching high standards and attaining their full potential.

I spent 5 years living in Thailand where I taught English as a Foreign Language to KS1, KS2, KS3 and adults.

As well as a yoga and mediation teacher, I am qualified to teach mindfulness in schools. I work with schools to help integrate mindfulness into the curriculum to improve health and well being.

My Passion And How I Inspire

I am passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential. I see every child as an individual and endeavor to engage and motivate each child to instill a long life love for learning. Each child has their own unique strengths, learning styles, interest and sense of creativity and it is this that I keep in mind when planning the lessons for the children that I teach. I feel it is important to connect what the student is learning to real life situations and enable them to see the interdisciplinary nature of all subjects.

Learning challenging concepts or studying for exams can be a stress full time for children. This can have an impact on their self confidence, their ability to focus and health as a whole. I bring my expertise in mindfulness to help each child navigate these challenges with a sense of comfort and ease.
