Whilst tutoring I would pay particular attention to the needs of each student, and tailor their tutoring sessions to best meet their needs and wishes. My approach to tutoring emphasises clarity, flexibility, and an enthusiasm for learning, within an informal and relaxed yet structured and interactive environment. I use a variety of methods and approaches towards tutoring including working through notes covering key content, in-depth case studies and analysis as well as encouraging debates with students and developing creative revision methods including the use of timelines and mindmaps. I encourage students to think imaginatively and challenge themselves academically, encouraging debate and broadening their horizons. These approaches ensure that the tutee clearly understands the content and technical aspects of their subject as well as allowing them to demonstrate their understanding through a variety of necessary skills. This not only helps to improve a student's examination technique but also their academic development.
In the lead up to the exam period, I can provide intensive revision sessions and/ or revision guides for any of the subjects listed above.
