4 years tutoring with agencies and privately.
I’ve taught students of all ages and abilities, including some with special educational needs.
“The session [with Kirsten] was really brilliant. She was so well prepared, and had so much to offer me in developing my ideas and giving new ones. I would thoroughly recommend her to any other students, and have booked another session with her for 7th January.”
“I have just had my final lesson with Kirsten who was helping me with my application to read History of Art at Cambridge. I wanted to write to thank you so much for sending her to me and let you know how extremely helpful Kirsten has been. With every aspect of my application Kirsten gave me such detailed feedback and constructive comments and was always extremely prompt in doing so – her help was infinitely superior to that which I received from school! In addition, Kirsten’s breadth of knowledge and depth of knowledge and obvious enthusiasm for History of Art was infectious. Her lesson’s were rigorous, challenging and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her; I really could not praise Kirsten more highly or emphasise enough how extremely grateful to her, and Tavistock Tutors, I am.”
“Hi Kirsten, fantastic news, she got an offer to UCL! She’s over the moon. Thank you very much for all your help! She also got an offer from SOAS and is still going to a Courtauld Interview next week!”
“I just wanted to let you know that my dissertation got a 68 which I was thrilled with and, even better, I got a 2:1 overall and graduated a couple of weeks ago. Thank you once again for all of your help, I would never have got a mark like that without you.”
“I’ve only just come back from an extremely busy holiday, so this is the first time I’ve been able to contact you with my results and to say thank you.
I got 3 As! or 2 As and an M1….
I would not have been able to do it without you, so thank you so much. You were such an amazing tutor, helping me learn around the subjects as well as within them.
When I asked mum for a tutor, I felt as though I was struggling – getting the results that I did was astounding to me!
So again, thank you so much for all your help.”

My Passion And How I Inspire
I want all my lessons to be as enjoyable as possible! The best teachers are those who inspire curiosity and a love for the subject, so I strive to get to know all my pupils as individuals, and to link my lessons to their own interests and learning styles. Tutoring isn’t about parroting facts – I ask lots of leading questions to help the student come to answers by themselves and build their confidence in the subject.
