When it comes to exam preparation, practice makes perfect, so I place particular emphasis on going over past papers and thinking about what kind of questions could come up in the exam.
For languages, it’s all about confidence and enjoyment, so I really try and help the student realise that languages are a gateway into a whole different culture, and that there is so much more to them than vocab and grammar.
I spent a year working as an English teacher in a primary school in Madrid, where I taught children from 2 to 12 years old. I also tutored adults in preparation for the Cambridge English language exams.
I have supported several students from my old school(Fettes College in Edinburgh) with their personal statements and interview preparation, particularly for Oxbridge.
I was born and raised in France, where I attended a bilingual school until sixth form. I am therefore fluent in French, and passed the French version of GCSEs (Brevet International), with a distinction. I also obtained an A* in History; and A* in English Language and Literature IGCSEs.
For sixth form, I went to boarding school (Fettes College) in Edinburgh where I obtained the following A-levels: History (A*); French (A*); German (A); English (A).
I then went to Cambridge University where I obtained First Class Honours in Modern Languages (Spanish and German). I received a special distinction for my Spanish oral exam and was awarded the Elmore Exhibition prize for academic achievement.
I am currently studying an MSc in Global Health and Development at UCL
