My Passion & How I Inspire

I have always been an avid reader, and was lucky enough to grow up in a house surrounded by books. Taking pride in my writing was always important to me. I love working with young people, seeing them progress, and watching them become more conscientious about their work. The relationship that can be built in a one-on-one session is very different to those in the classroom, and it's a privilege to have the opportunity to make a real difference.

My Experience

I am a professional English teacher with nine years of experience, currently based in Highbury, north London. I am a native English speaker from south-east England.

I offer tuition in English for students preparing for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, and have successfully prepared students wishing to gain places at some of the most prestigious schools in London (such as St Paul's, Westminster, and King's College Wimbledon). I have also taught English Language and Literature GCSE in a secondary school setting, with most experience with the AQA exam board.

I hold a Trinity Cert.TESOL and Young Learners Certificate from Oxford TEFL Prague, and provide structured language lessons which cover all aspects of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation to students learning English as a foreign language. I also offer conversation based classes to those working at a higher level. Exam preparation, such as for IELTS, is also an option.

I teach both adults and children and have worked in the Czech Republic, Greece and the UK. I hold a current DBS check.

I am currently broadening my teaching experience and studying for my Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning at Trinity Laban.
