My Passion & How I Inspire

I provide multi sensory specialist tailored sessions according to pupilsā€™ needs. My specialist areas are in Literacy and Longer Writing. I encourage meta-cognition and reflective practiseĀ  so that when the learner has ā€˜completedā€™ a piece of work, they are then able to approach the task of proof reading, editing and redrafting equipped with a skill set to improve on the first draft.Ā  Often with learners with dyslexic tendencies short term memory and the ability to sequence may be indicated, I therefore build in to the lesson a series of exercises to help improve the working memory, so that spellings are more readily remembered. My lessons are cumulative and allow for over learning of the subject that is being taught

I always aim for a fun approach, allowing time for careful revision of the lesson. I have a multitude of resources which I use to facilitate the cumulative multi sensory specialist English or Literacy lesson!

I also have tutored for the 7, 8 and 11 plus and provided good study skills tips for students in organisation and methods to promote maximum achievement.

My Reviews

"Itā€™s all your doing, the reason she got through.Ā  The school may take the credit, but itā€™s thanks to you."

I am very impressed that you spotted my daughterā€™s eyes need testing.Ā  Thank you so much -Ā  A now has a lovely pink pair of 1+ glasses she only needs for reading and writing.

Our son needs Irlen lenses ā€“ thanks for spotting his scotopic sensitivity!

He is really improving.

She doesnā€™t seem to have the same problems before: she really likes you, you just seem to have a gift for keeping herĀ  on track.

Our daughter adores you!
