    My Passion And How I Inspire

    My primary intention is to ensure that the student has an understanding of the philosophical importance of the issue at hand. I seek to distil complex theoretical debates to the core claims so that points can be communicated with optimal efficacy, thereby stimulating debate. In providing jazz tuition I sought to ensure that whether playing tuning exercises, scales, compositions, or improvising, the student understood the theoretical mechanics behind the music, that they played with the appropriate technique, and that they could play with enjoyment or sentimental involvement, at least.

    I play the saxophone in an art project called ‘Luscombe’s Cartesian Nightmare’. We combine philosophical argumentation with free-jazz and film art!
