My Passion & How I Inspire

My passion for tutoring derives from my experience at school. I loved attending school, and studying at University level. I wanted to somehow further myself in this field of work by helping other learners achieve their academic goals. I think one of my biggest inspirations for this field came from my second year of tutoring, when I assisted a young learner with her Matric English examinations (known as AS levels). She was set on getting into Medicine, but the only thing holding her back from this, was her English mark (which was an average of 70%). She needed to attain an 89% average in her examination, in order to be granted final acceptance into Medicine. Although reaching 89% seemed out of reach, she managed to attain a 92% average in her examination, and is now in her third year of Medical school. I think my inspiration comes from my students, as their goals are inevitably my goals as well.

My Experience

I have been tutoring students (ages 11 - 18) for four years. I have mainly assisted students prepare for English/English Literature tests and examinations (IGCSE & A-level). Other subjects I have taught include Psychology (A-level), Biology (IGCSE & A-level), Geography (IGCSE & A-levels), and History (IGCSE). I won tutor of the month at the agency I had previously worked for, and was swiftly promoted to Supervising Tutor, where I managed a profile of 750+ tutors. As a Supervisor, I managed the relationship between the client and the tutor, and monitored the progress of the students.
