My Passion & How I Inspire

My key tutoring attributes are excellent communication, dedication, and using innovative methods of teaching to build confidence.

For me, the student’s confidence in the subject material is key. This is only achieved by tailoring my approach to each student’s individual style of learning – be it close reading, critical analysis and discussion, or relation of the material to real life situations and interesting anecdotes.

Of equal importance, and fully integrated into my lessons, is examination preparation. This is achieved not only via the marking and detailed feedback of essay answers, but also through developing the student’s individual approach and strategy in the exam hall.

My Experience

I have three years’ experience tutoring students for their GCSE and A-level exams in history, geography and English. I have tutored across the exam boards, including OCR, AQA, Edexcel, and CIE.

My experience includes helping students understand syllabus content more accurately, those requiring exam technique help and feedback, and those targeting the highest grades (and any combination of these). One student last year achieved an A* in their GCSE geography qualification, having being predicted two grades lower by school.

Additionally, I have tutored several students for 11+ English, and 13+ history and geography, as well as at KS3 level in general; all of whom far exceeded their goals.
