When teaching science and maths I stress the overlap and interconnectedness of the different disciplines. I find this helps abstract concepts to fall into perspective, makes everything less daunting when you realise that the same principles feature in so many different topics and ultimately stands the student in better stead when grappling with unfamiliar territory. My interest in the history and philosophy of science also serves to animate my explanations, making the process more enjoyable and memorable.
