I love learning! Mostly about new cultures, languages and ways of being, but in general I am such a learning freak, and I try to pass this enthusiasm onto all of my students, regardless of their level.
When it comes to teaching languages, students often seem to lack self-confidence and that is what gets in the way of them speaking. The most important thing when learning a language is to commit errors out loud - the more errors you commit, the more you learn. This is why it is extremely important to me to create connection with the student to allow them to practice in a safe space where all of their errors are more than welcome!
When it comes to other subjects that I tutor, such as Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology, I find curiosity to be the most loyal helper. As these subjects are more about the way we approach and understand certain situations, than the situations themselves, to spark curiosity in the student is the best way to get them engaged and thinking!
I am able to help in all sort of situations. It could be a young students struggling with GSCE Spanish speaking, or an A-level/graduate student needing help with an analysis of a text or understanding the essence of the essay they have just read - I am here to share all the tricks I have.
I have many hours of experience tutoring students in English, French, Spanish and Croatian. I have also taught Croatian at an evening school in London and held English workshops for underrepresented children in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. When it comes to other subjects I teach, such as Anthropology, Sociology and Psychology, I have had many years of education, essay proof-reading and text analysis which all inform the techniques I use to them them.
Moreover, in addition to my experience in teaching, I also have a lot of experience in learning. Croatian is my native language, but I have become fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese through learning them from scratch. This means I know the ins and outs of grammar, pronunciation and remembering techniques. It is always easier to explain something to someone having been in their shoes!
All in all, I have experience in teaching a wide range of student ages and teaching remits. I love learning and think that first and foremost, learning should be fun and exciting and I definitely do my best to transmit that in all of my lessons!

Student on an evening course I taught:
The tutor is great, warm, engaging and encouraging. The class was well planned with a good balance of grammar and spoken practice with each other and plenty of insight into the language and the culture of the broader region. We learnt a lot in just 2 hours while having fun. Glad that there is homework as well.
I once spent 7 weeks straight sleeping in a hammock in a house with no walls what-so-ever in Brazil!
