My Passion & How I Inspire

My main priority is encouraging my students to feel confident about their subject and enthusiastic about learning. Once I have assessed the needs of a new student, I focus on helping them to build up the skills they need to conquer their exams through fun and creative tutoring sessions. Discovering literature as a teenager enriched my life immeasurably, and I love seeing my students develop a real passion for reading.

My Experience

I have been a private tutor since 2015. Over the last 4 years I have provided A Level English Literature, GCSE English Language and Literature, KS1, English, KS2 English, 11+ English and KS1 & KS2 Maths tuition to students across London. During this time I have become familiar with a range of exam boards and have learnt strategies to make tutoring more engaging and effective for my students. I also have extensive experience working with SEN, including ASD and Dyslexia.

Writing Intervention Tutor (St Stephen's Primary School, Newham)

I ran writing intervention lessons to small groups of KS1 and KS2 pupils at this award winning primary school (ā€˜State Primary School of the Year 2017ā€™ - The Sunday Times). During this time I developed the writing skills of pupils in years 1-6, and helped my pupils write clearly and confidently for a range of purposes, as well as preparing them for SATs and the start of Secondary School.

GCSE English Mentor (Swanlea School, Whitechapel)

I mentored year 11 students through their English Literature and Language GCSEs. This involved delivering sessions for small groups of students and assisting class teachers with their lessons.

English and Maths Tutor (West Ham United FC Youth Academy, Romford)

I supervised classes of up to 30 students aged 8-14 and provided assistance with their English and Maths homework, and provided literacy and numeracy activities to suit pupilsā€™ ability levels.
