I believe that tutoring should be an enjoyable experience for both students and tutors. I try to make the class fun as well as I tend to always link the theories with real life experiences and contemporary events. I think that a student, in order to be motivated, needs to clearly see and understand the applicability of the subject of study.
My teaching and tutoring skills constantly improved thanks to my experience as psychology lecturer. I teach courses such as “Introduction to Psychology”, “Introduction to Counselling”, “Research Methods”, “Globalisation and Multiculturalism”, and “Clinical and cultural studies of trauma” at University level. I am used to supervising dissertation and research projects. I have also been a private tutor for Italian.
I obtained my PhD in Psychology from the University of Greenwich (UK) and a MSc and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Padova (Italy).
'5/5! Claudia is easy going she immediately help me and explain me what I need she gave me hope and new ideas in my subject.'
A fun fact about me regards my first approach to statistics in Psychology. After the first class of the first module of my BSc in Psychology I called my parents complaining about my choice and wondering if I had to stop the degree. The first class of the BSc was on a subject called “Psychometrics” that is related to statistics. I did not expect to study this subject in a psychology course and so I was scared and confused. The paradox is that the subject that scared me so much became my area of expertise!
