I consider myself to be a very open-minded, energetic and enthusiastic person and I have experience in tutoring children, adolescents, as well as adults. In one-to-one private tuition I go at the student's own pace, ensuring that his or her different needs are sufficiently addressed. Thus, the lesson is more focused, suited to the student's learning style and appealing to his or her personality type. I deliver engaging and interesting classes, with a balanced use of textbooks and authentic materials. Although I use the textbook and past papers as the core of the lesson and my main guide, I incorporate the use of technology and multimedia (videos, songs, films and documentaries) to make my lessons interactive.
During my undergraduate studies I worked part-time as a teaching assistant in an English language school in Patras, Greece, where I taught Greek learners of English aged between 8 and 15, while also providing extra tutoring classes to learners with learning difficulties (dyslexia). As an undergraduate student I also provided lessons of Ancient Greek and Modern Greek to high-school students (beginner and intermediate level- focus on conjugations, grammar, translation of small texts). While in Greece, I prepared a beginner-level English speaking adult for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek (A2 level), and since my arrival to the UK, I have offered lessons of Modern Greek (beginner level) to German and English speaking adults. Finally, in March, 2017, I assisted in the conduct of the GCSE Modern Greek oral exams at the Oxford Spires Academy in Oxford, UK.
