My tutoring style is all about making the student feel at ease. I'm really passionate about encouraging young people to have more self confidence, and I think achieving academically is absolutely a way in which they can do that. When I was younger I always remember being too self conscious in school to put my hand up and tell the teacher where I was confused or struggling, and being too afraid to ask a question.
As a tutor myself now, I think a tutoring lesson is the place to get things wrong and ask as many questions as you want, so I want to make sure my students can do this without feeling embarrassed. I'm a very patient person and like to take my time with my students, finding out how they learn best, how I best can help them, and making sure they fully understand and feel confident with each section we are studying. I like to make my lessons as engaging and creative as possible, to create a strong link between having fun and learning, and I find my experience as a drama student and actor lends me the skills to do this!
I started working as a nanny in 2015 and soon realised that homework and exam help is a huge part of the role. I have looked after children ranging in age from 3-12 and have covered all of their homework subjects including Maths, English, History and Science as well as helping a student with his 11+ exam to Emanuel.
