My Passion & How I Inspire

I tutor because it is fun! I’ve always enjoyed explaining things to people, and I have a deep passion for chemistry which I enjoy sharing with others. Chemistry is an extremely difficult subject, and getting students to understand complex concepts is very satusfying.

My Experience

Over the last 10 years, I have done roughly 150 hours of tutoring, predominately A-Level chemistry in the holidays during my first degree and more recently since completing my PhD. I’ve taught a mixture of student abilities and interests in science, and have experience in getting students excited about the natural world around us. I’ve had long and short term clients who sometimes wanted a brush up on skills before school started or an increase in grades or confidence.

Other teaching experience:

At UCL I taught a 1st year organic chemistry tutorial of 12 students for a term.

I taught 1st and 2nd year organic labs.

I completed many chemistry outreach programmes for UCL.

I have attended UCL’s teaching associate programme which leads to becoming a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
