I’ve had several years of experience giving private tuition in English literature, language and English as a foreign language. This has included helping students to prepare for their 11+, SATS, GCSEs and IELTS (for students learning English as a new language).
Having also worked as a teaching assistant in mainstream and SEN schools, I have worked with pupils within the classrooms. Supporting them in becoming more engaged with the syllabus and giving the tools needed for them to achieve higher grades.
Currently, I freelance as an TEFL English teacher at schools at various schools in Central London, for both children and adults.
Subjects I teach
(TEFL) English As A Foreign Language
English – Primary and Secondary
English Literature BA – Brunel University
CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) – South Thames College
My Passion And How I Inspire
I’m passionate about helping to build the skills and confidence of students i work with. All my lessons are planned in advance and the style is tailored to each individual student’s needs. I provide extra resources, regular feedback reports for parents (where parents are involved), and i devote a lot of time outside of my sessions to explore how best to help my students.
I recently volunteered at a meditation centre for one month in Brighton. I like to think I’ve picked up some useful techniques to help keep my students calm when they face a challenge in their work!
