I’m a warm, friendly and good-humoured tutor that knows that reading and understanding difficult texts does not come naturally to every student. So I not only want to help you interpret literature with greater skill and flair – and help you get those top grades! – but I also believe that analyzing literature is a fantastic way of developing critical thinking in general. Whilst not every assigned book will necessarily become your personal favourite, decoding the tools and techniques of fiction can also improve our own writing and understanding of the world.
I enjoyed teaching English as a Foreign Language to groups both in the classroom and on cultural excursions. I also gave extensive one-on-one lessons to foreign students that were tailored to their personal and professional needs.

Even though I’m lucky enough to read brilliant books every day in my work as a literary critic and editor, I often wind down in the evenings with a low-brow thriller!
