I aim to give students confidence in themselves to approach new problems in a positive way, based on their own knowledge and understanding of the topics. With a solid grounding in the fundamentals, harder problems and new material can then be tackled in a logical way. I like to show students ways in which their subjects are used in real life applications, which really motivates students to learn from their own curiosity!
From 2009-2014, I was a tutor for Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, as well as a supervisor for Masters students in their final year. I was an admissions tutor, which included reviewing UCAS applications and conducting interviews for Chemistry. I have also conducted research and taught undergraduate students at Duke University in the USA.
