After studying with many of my peers and other students, I have become increasingly aware that everyone has their own personal ways of learning and remembering information. With this in mind, I like to make sure that my tutoring is tailored to the studentās individual needs, in order for them to acquire effective learning techniques that they can use in future studies. As Psychology involves a lot of essay writing, I feel it is hugely beneficial to focus on essay technique. This involves me helping the student to read journal articles in an effective and useful way, formulate the key arguments from the reading, and structure these arguments in order to directly answer the essay question. Psychology also has a strong statistical component, and I like to teach Statistics by looking at past exam questions and real-life research examples, rather than just spewing information and numbers!
